Danielle Leroux

Danielle Leroux is the Founder of Renew Retreats: holistic hiking retreats and outdoor education for women in Vancouver, BC and beyond.

Danielle grew up in Toronto and was far from an outdoors lover, let alone hiker. As a kid, you could find her playing the flute and piano or creating a mess in the kitchen.

After completing her Bachelor of Music at Mount Allison University, Danielle moved to BC in 2012 to do her Master of Arts in Communication at Simon Fraser University.

She is now living that West Coast life and has fallen in love with the mountains.

Since her first BC hike to Lighthouse Park in 2012, Danielle has gone onto do things she never fathomed she would, like: climb to a glacier at sunrise on Vancouver Island, run 3 marathons and a 50 km trail race, hike to extinct volcanoes in BC’s backyard and among the wild buffalo in California, complete a 160 km trek through the Alps, and start a business to bring these experiences and the positive impacts of hiking to other women.

After working in community engagement for five years, Danielle launched Renew Retreats in August 2019. In October 2019, she also became a Local Guide for Fjällräven North America and Ambassador for Fjällräven Vancouver’s West Broadway Store.
